I hope we all have a better week this week than the Chiefs did a second half yesterday..

I also need to make a correction from Friday's email. I said that Lacey Cruse was a Wichita City Council member, which is false. She is actually the District 4 Commissioner for Sedgwick County.

Congrats to Lynne Tompkins who I now owe a coffee. She had the closest prediction of the game yesterday with a guess of 28-24 in favor of the Bengals. Reply to this email Lynne!

The (Food) Truck Stop

Willie Finley is no stranger to food trucks. He owns Willie’s Wings.

Pretty soon, he will debut The Truck Stop at Woodlawn and Kellogg. It will have room for 13 food trucks and will be open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.

Who wants to meet up for a bite to eat when it opens?

East High Repairs

East High is the oldest school in USD259.

It also has structural issues in the science wing. Now, officials would like to fast track repairs as soon as March to get it fixed up.

Exploration Place Movie Experience

Wichita’s Exploration Place is working on a movie experience all filmed from an eagle eye drone perspective called Kansas: An Immersive Flyover of America’s Heartland.

Over 40 locations have already been shot, but they need some help. Head to the kickstarter to see how you can help and then attend the VIP red carpet premiere!

You may have heard of a little downtown get together called Riverfest.

It is put on by Wichita Festivals Inc and they now have a new president and CEO named Nancy Duling.

For the first time this school year, there are more than 1000 staff members in USD259 that are in quarantine.
